Sports Betting-Can It Survive in America?

Writing by admin on Tuesday, 30 of October , 2007 at 8:20 pm

The sports betting industry has become phenomenally popular in the United States, bringing players from nearly all around the world to compete in these types of online sports betting websites. The craze has become so overwhelmingly popular in fact, that it has come under the scrutiny of the United States government which naturally smacked it down. With the efforts of the United States government to restrict players abilities to participate in these types of gambling and gaming websites it has become virtually impossible to generate revenue in the United States. It is only a matter of time before these types of sports betting websites begin to close their doors and no longer offer any type of gaming and gambling for American users. In foreign locations, the laws are plenty lenient and allow individuals to participate in these types of sports betting websites at will with very little restriction. In fact, the sports betting websites have seen a tremendous rise in popularity around the world in nearly every location except the United States. Many blame this on United States gaming and gambling laws as well as the perception of these types of websites as being restricted. In truth, only recently has the United States government turned their attention to these types of websites due to their tremendous earning potential. As usual, any time the government comes across something that is profitable but cannot be taxed they do everything in their power to shut it down.

With the constant attacks from the United States government, it becomes readily apparent that the gaming and gambling industry on the Internet has a hard future ahead of it, as the United States government repeatedly attacks the sports betting websites in an attempt to shut them down and legislate them out of existence. With all the effort being made by the United States government to criminalize even the most casual of sports betting industry websites, it remains to be seen whether or not these Internet-based gambling web portals can remain functioning with the constant barrage of legislation coming out of Washington. Until the United States government takes a more lenient tact in dealing with these types of Internet-based gaming establishments, there will very likely be little opportunity for individuals to utilize these types of alternatives on the Internet that allow players to earn so much from wagering on their favorite sports teams online.

Sports Betting Websites Reach out to Foreign Locations to Prop up Diminished Revenue

Writing by admin on Tuesday, 30 of October , 2007 at 7:58 pm

With the recent attacks by the United States government and the attempt to legislate gaming and gambling websites out of business in America, it has become a difficult matter to stay in business for sports betting websites as well as the usual assortment of online poker rooms, casinos and gaming halls that exist on the web. Each and every one of these gaming and gambling oriented websites has come under fire for one reason or another from the government and have experienced a tremendously reduced amount of income as a direct result of this particular attack. While it remains to be seen what type of response can be expected from the government in the recent efforts to expand into foreign markets, at the very least, it would seem that they would have some reduced authority in the matter. While it is a simple enough matter to pass regulations that forbid any type of online gambling and gaming website from conducting any types of transactions with American banking institutions, once outside of the United States it is a completely different matter and the laws of the American continent can do little to regulate the activities that occur in overseas markets.

It is this very autonomy and freedom that these online sports betting websites consider to be so important, as maintaining a presence in overseas locations allows for all manner of cost reduction and ease-of-use including lower overhead and reduced living expenses. While most of the sports betting websites are already located in foreign areas around the world, there is little effort made to advertise or make any marketing and promotional efforts beyond the United States and its extremely lucrative consumer market. In the future, sports betting websites will very likely have to rely on increased revenues from international communities in the world stage at large. In order to make the most of all of this revenue, there will very likely be a marked increase in services to faraway foreign lands where sports betting is not generally considered to be as popular due to the lack of exposure and minimal advertising effort.

With this branching out into foreign locations, sports betting websites make it readily apparent that the recent regulations by the United States government has made it extraordinarily difficult to generate revenue from the local domestic market.
